MODELING & SIMULATION

OmegaStorage utilizes advanced modeling and simulation techniques to integrate its services into clients' projects. We adhere to the highest standards of due diligence and documentation as prescribed by CMM (Capability Maturity Model) and ISO practices.

First, we create a IDEF0 (FIPS 183) model of the client's existing business processes. Next we review  (or create) an IDEF1X (FIPS 184) model of the client's database schema. We then integrate OmegaStorage Service processes and data tables into the new models. This methodology ensures that the resulting services match the client specifications, while also providing the most accurate form of documentation.

Of course, if a client has no existing models or processes in place, we also can design the processes from scratch as part of our total solution package. (Again, the client does not have to purchase the hardware and software.)

As an option, OmegaStorage can prepare an animated simulation based on the re-engineered IDEF0 models. Our simulation provides a graphic presentation of the proposed workflow changes. Viewing a running simulation conveys the workflow scenario on a visual level where one picture is worth a thousand words. The simulation output can also help determine required staffing levels, highlight timing issues, identify bottlenecks and provide activity based costing analysis reports.
